Soooo close
May. 28th, 2007 09:06 pmThursdaaaay..Thursssday....I get to leave for Sonya's and then go to the Xena con *_* Thurrrsday. I can't WAIT. I have no idea what it will be like. Maybe it'll really be good for me, or at least I hope so.
I've had an eventful couple of days. Thirsday we went to see PoTC 3, which I really did enjoy. There were some people dressed up before the movie doing a skit..they traded me beads for my hat and then made me sing with them in front of the audience to get it back xD Thank God it wasn't a big audience...and that the pirates drowned out my horrid singing. Muchos fun, and I'm glad we drove 2 hours for it instead of sticking around the boring, tiny, evil Star Theatre. The downside was I got home late and was beat the next day.
Friday I had some time for a nap..and then I woke up and started making food and Nick pulled in so that was very YAY. Mmmm Guitar Hero...we watched the documentary and then the Cosplay Chess. Fun!! Um..Saturday..I played FF7 waaaaay too long and stuff. But later that night we watched Silent Hill, which I had seen before but did like. It is pretty creepy. Nick gave me the movie today :D
Sunday we saw V for Vendetta finally. What an odd movie...but good. Today...nothing much, just hung around til Nick left, at which point I turned on the TV and saw Jack Hannah. He had a HUGE tortoise on Ellen. So CUTE! And he had a sea lion, and a spider monkey, and so on. The spider monkey thing made me mad..he had one because some years ago some people found the poor thing in a DUMPSTER in LA. This is back when they could be acquired as pets, well sorta. Someone just couldn't care for it. Who the FUCK throws away a monkey? I mean honestly? Well people found it and it's limbs were broken so they've never grown to the length they should have. Thus he can't go to the wild or live in a zoo with other monkeys so a couple care for him in their home.
You know what else was stupid as shit? My dad gets a Magazine called "National Wildlife" right..you know, just a nature magazine. Anyway, it had a section on wolves a couple months back. The title was "Sexy Beasts". I thought it was giggleworthy and kinda appropriate.
So in this month's issue I was reading the letters. Some loser wrote in saying he works in a private library for kids and that he doesn't want kids to think of wolves as "Sexy Beasts"! What the fuck? Seriously, is that your biggest concern, that some kids will go "Omg sexy beasts! BEASTIALITY! YAY!" or something? What the hell is your problem? It was from someone in Tennessee...well sorry bud, but I think the fact you're sharing your bed with your mother is worse. (Stereotyping, I don't care though.) Oh well, be offended by the title as you please, and why don't you burn some Harry Potter books for supporting witchcraft while you're at it?
Ugh.
Well. Anyway, only 2 days of work ahead, I think I can make it. Tom gave me a unicorn clock he found on Friday. It's pretty cool. Tomorrow he paints with us prolly, which should be nice.
I've never wanted to go to an anime con so bad in my life, by the way. Steph's doc (which was really awesome!) and the chess game made me want to go so bad. But....but I wish I could find a cosplaying crew of my own to hang out with. No one cosplays with me and it looks like so much fun. At least I hope to get my newest costume finished in time for Otakon. Maybe I should start being a regular at Cosplay.com, I wonder if that would help me out at all in making contacts and such? Maybe.
Well, we'll see.
Blech, I just feel kinda lonely so now I'm headed.
